Coming Spring 2027: Introducing the Redwood Aerial Adventure

Every adventure-seeking soul will soon have a new option for planning a vacation, all-day getaway, or team-building experience in Sonoma County. Sonoma Zipline Adventures is proud to announce the addition of the Redwood Aerial Adventure at our forested location in Occidental, California.
More Fun for the Whole Family in the Redwoods
The new aerial challenge course will feature segments appropriate for every member of the family. Teens and adults can test their strength, agility, and confidence on the continuous belay course, while a designated Kids’ Netted Fun Zone gives younger visitors their own space to play for hours in a fun, engaging environment.
A New Kids’ Netted Fun Zone for Active Play
The Kids’ Netted Fun Zone is reached via a horizontal tube crawl beneath the main entry deck, opening into a netted play area with 4 challenge elements and a vertical tube crawl exit. Little ones can climb, swing, and jump to their heart’s content while older siblings and parents tackle the zipline courses or the aerial adventure. Now everyone in the family can spend the day together in the wondrous Coastal Redwood Forest.
Push Your Limits on the Aerial Challenge Course
The new course stretches over 40,000 square feet of forested hillside and features 17 designer elements, 4 sky bridges, and 4 traverse elements organized into four separate routes. Guests begin at an elevated adventure deck and choose a route that fits their style and skill level. Three routes exit back at the primary adventure deck, while the fourth starts and finishes at a second level. The most challenging route ends with a rappel back to the ground.
Sky bridges throughout the course invite you to catch your breath while soaking in the wondrous view of the forest canopy. Work the course at your own pace, cheer on your friends, and discover your untapped inner strength.
What Is an Aerial Ropes Course?
You begin at a platform and work your way through a variety of rope obstacles: rope mazes, swinging bridges, climbing walls, and rappels. Some features stay low to the ground, while others test your comfort with heights. Physical puzzles may require more than one person to conquer, so teamwork is essential.
Unlike a zipline, where the cable does the work once you step off the platform, an aerial challenge course puts you to the test at every step.
Designed by the Experts for a Full Day of Exploration
We hired Bonsai Design to bring the fun of rope adventures to our forest. Rather than clear-cutting a site, they crafted segments that weave in among the towering Redwoods, taking full advantage of the terrain. The finished course travels back and forth over a scenic creek and Redwood Valley, delivering an adrenaline rush alongside the calm only found deep in the woods.
Zipline in the Morning, Aerial Adventure in the Afternoon
Guests will soon have even more ways to spend a day in the Redwoods. Sonoma Zipline Adventures will continue to offer the Tree Tops and Forest Flight tours, each running about two and a half hours. Pair a morning zipline tour with an afternoon on the Redwood Aerial Adventure for a truly epic day. Look for new packages that feature other premium offerings, including gourmet meals, treehouse overnight stays, and all-day passes.
